Art making sessions are conducted in a client-centered approach. Outcome is measured on a weekly basis. You should be able to tell whether I am the right therapist for you in three to four sessions.
The sessions' focus is on art making while exploring all the issues addressed in traditional psychotherapy ("talking cure"). Commonly addressed issues include depression, anxiety, stress, addiction, and low self-esteem.
Although many clients utilize art therapy for specific concerns, others have used the sessions to explore their potential and creativity. For example, the sessions have been used by clients for life reviews, by using art creation to revisit the paths they have been on and clarify the directions they wish to take.
Because we are focusing on art making, you will break through your defenses much more quickly and have tangible materials to review throughout the therapy sessions. You will be able to monitor your progress by talking with me about your art work made during the sessions and at home.
